Director of Technical Services
Reports to: Industrial Director of Operations
Direct Reports: field service techs, project managers, facilitate QA mgrs/ Safety Directors
Scope of Position: to lead, manage or otherwise ensure the development and continuous improvement of a comprehensive food safe, product quality system that is compliant with customer requirements. System to include all aspects of product quality and safety from suppliers and internal manufacturing controls to resolving customer run ability issues. In charge of managing division safety/ regulatory compliance programs.
Profile / Attributes
- 8-10 years experience leading technical teams
- Technical degree w/ advanced degree a plus
- Plastics/ consumer packaging/ food processing/ bottling background
- Past experience with product design, specification QS system development
- GMP and food safety knowledge
- Ability to design and lead effective field service operations
- Adept at team based continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong communication and people management skills across organizations
- High energy and personal standards
- Strong project management skills
- ISO certification process desirable.
Major Functions
- Design, implement, manage and continuously improve a comprehensive product Quality System that encompasses all customer audit requirements, food safety standards, product design specifications, supplier management, manufacturing integration and customer commercialization requirements.
- Lead division safety and regulatory compliance programs to ensure a “zero injury” work environment while complying with all OSHA and regulatory standards.
- Design, implement and manage a comprehensive field service process that facilitates the efficient production of packaging components through our customers systems, minimizes the cost of DMR’s and collects market and customer intelligence.
- Manage and schedule field service technicians to urgently resolve customer locations run ability issues and product roll outs.
- Take the lead role in professionally resolving all customer quality issues while protecting the interest of the company.
- Act as company point person for all product quality issues, reporting and customer requirements associated with quality. Lead and coordinate all ongoing quality and bottler conference calls to include the tracking and facilitation of actions and commitments.
- Ensure all quality audit requirements are met and improved upon. Lead the preparation and execution of all on site audits for AIB and customers.
- Take the lead roll in new customer or product roll out to ensure successful commercialization.
- Plan, organize, and execute actions to obtain and manage ISO 9000 certification for the company.
- Develop a comprehensive set of performance metrics across areas of responsibility to gain visibility of internal quality systems and external customer performance.
