A successful candidate in this role will be responsible for all activities within the distribution center including the safety of our team members, the performance of the warehouse and transportation functions, finance and budgets, delivering outstanding customer service and developing a positive customer-centric culture.

Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for achievement of business plans, strategies, and objectives
  • Ensure utilization/coordinating of resources to achieve objectives that fully support     and are linked to company objectives as well as assisting/facilitating other locations functional objectives
  • Prepare and develop yearly P&L budget
  • Utilize strong analytical skills to understand and interpret budget data
  • Create specific action plans designed to sustainably solve budgetary gaps
  • Work closely with General Manager facility manager to develop CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) plans for building improvements and ensure compliance in all OSHA, PSM (Process Safety Management) and other regulatory matters
  • Talent development of direct reports as well as building bench strength to supply talent for future growth of the company
  • Utilize KPIs with a focus on quality and accuracy to identify performance gaps and work with the senior leadership team to address
  • Develop strong relationships with customers that facilitate partnership and ongoing improvements in the processes
  • Interact with team members regularly with a goal to build and maintain a positive culture in the building and work to address concerns of the team
  • Champion a zero-tolerance approach for a clean, safe working environment
  • Work through operational challenges in an organized, customer-focused manner
  • Minimal travel (approx. 5%)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Supply Chain or Logistics major preferred
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED with college coursework, continuing  technical education or extensive comparable business experience required
  • Experience in Transportation, Warehouse, Logistics, Supply Chain
  • Knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) required
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma and/or ISO 9001 preferred
  • Ability to relocate
  • Knowledge and understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) Hours of Service
  • Must be proficient in computer use of word processing, spreadsheets
  • Must be able to interact effectively and respectfully with all levels of the organization
