This search was completed in 2016 for an international flavor and ingredients company. The Vice President Operations is a strategic partner to the CEO and contributing member of the Senior Management team, partnering closely with will domestic and global business stakeholders and have a major impact on the US division. This position will serve as the principal owner for the US manufacturing operations, collaboratively working with business unit leaders globally and domestically to ensure an alignment of company strategic goals. The VP of Operations will lead and continually develop the teams in production, quality, scheduling, distribution, engineering, maintenance and sanitation. This position is the Health and Safety champion for the US operations. The VP of Operations by virtue of his/her position is required to be a member of Finlays Food Safety and Quality Team and is responsible to ensure that policies and procedures regarding food safety are followed. To ensure all activities are handled in accordance with Finlays mission, business philosophy, ethics, and goals. In the absence of the VP of Operations, the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for all food safety issues.


The parent company is headquartered in London. This role will have a dotted line to the Global VP Operations and will be expected to vie for that role in 2-3 years when the incumbent retires. The successful candidate is expected to move decisively and make the tough decisions required to transform the organization. This includes evaluating the core competencies, ensuring the right talent is retained and developed to achieve performance results. This position will be responsible for taking ownership (with a hands-on approach) of US manufacturing expansion projects, working closely with global partners.
